CFAI has received assurances from the HSE that the physio post in Temple Steet Children’s Hospital will be filled

The Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland (CFAI) received correspondence from the from the Director of Services in the HSE last week assuring us that the vacant physio post in Temple Street Hospital will be filled. The post has been vacant since 14 September 2012. As soon CFAI became aware that there was no clarity on a replacement physiotherapist, we couriered a letter to the Director of Integrated Services in the HSE to make our strong views known. The CFAI received a response to this letter last week assuring us that the post will be filled. This is also the understanding of the clinicians in Temple St. At present there is only emergency physio cover, which is entirely unacceptable. CFAI will be monitoring the situation very closely to ensure the post in filled quickly and we continue to monitor the positions in other hospitals.
