Independent Living and Cystic Fibrosis Report

With improved life expectancy, there is increased ambition for people with cystic fibrosis (PWCF) to live more independent lives in a way that would not have been thought possible two short decades ago.

In 2016 the Board of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CFI) established an Independent Living sub-group (IL Sub group) to focus on making Independent Living possible by focusing on key issues, including: Housing and living arrangements; education; employment and social protection; mobility and travel and supports for beginning a family.
