Supporting the Future of CF Care in Ireland

CF care is not just about hospital stays & treatments – it's about enabling and empowering PWCF to live full rewarding lives outside of hospital for as long as possible.

This is at the heart of CFI's vision, and you can support this work into the future, in a very simple way – by leaving a gift to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland in your Will. These gifts – Legacies  are a vital source of funding for CFI.

Many people can afford to give far more in their Will than they ever could when they are alive. It won't cost anything in your lifetime, but will ensure your generosity, your legacy will live on to support future generations.

When making your Will, it's important to take care of your family and friends first. But, if you decide to make a gift to charity in your will – please consider Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.

We advise you to contact a solicitor for advice on making or changing your will. They will be able to provide you with advice on which option best suits your wishes and personal circumstances.

Leaving Your Legacy

Making a Will is not something most of us like to think about, but you can make or amend your Will at any stage in life.

There are a number of ways that you can make a Legacy gift to CFI:

  • A gift of the remainder or part of the remainder of your estate (Residuary Bequest)
  • A gift of a specific amount of money (Pecuniary Bequest)
  • A gift of a specific item – e.g. jewellery, a building, shares

If you have already made your Will you can change it at any time. This change is called a "Codicil" and can be drawn up easily by your solicitor. Your solicitor may find the following wording helpful if you would like to remember Cystic Fibrosis Ireland in your will.

For a gift of the residue of an estate:
"I give to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland of 24 Rathmines Rd Lower, Dublin 6, all (or a fraction) of the residue of my estate whatsoever and wheresoever, and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other officer for the time being of the said Foundation shall be a full and sufficient discharge of the same".

For a gift of a fixed sum or specific item:
"I give the sum of €_______ or I bequeath (the item specified) __________ to the Cystic Fibrosis Ireland of 24 Rathmines Rd Lower, Dublin 6 and I direct that the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the said Foundation shall be proper and sufficient discharge for the same".
