Cystic Fibrosis Art Exhibition May 2018

Cystic Fibrosis Art Exhibition May 2018

Sara Cross, PWCF is organising an art exhibition to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis and is seeking support of the CF Community for the event.

Hello, my name is Sara Cross and I have Cystic Fibrosis. I have been looking forward to planning an event for CF for a long time and now there is a way. I propose an art exhibition to raise money for medical research. I am asking all artists that my like to contribute to this event, using any media they choose, to please contact me. Details to follow below.

I believe that this should not just be another random art showing with random pieces to show, but a way to show the outside world what Cystic Fibrosis really is all about. I request that all art submitted be kept to the theme of personal endeavors and experience. How do you accept and understand your own Cystic Fibrosis, since I know that all cases are individual, and how do you rise above it? No explanations need to be provided for the piece.

The only information needed for each piece will be; Title of Piece, Name of Artist, *Age of Artist, Mutations of Artist, Short Bio. *This is for the interest of the CF and Non-CF Community to see the vast variation in Cystic Fibrosis. This is optional, however, I do think that this would be a good way to connect.

All media is acceptable. Use whatever form you are most comfortable with. This means anything from painting, drawing, photography, paper-craft, yarn-craft, sewing, quilting, etc. Any form listed here or form I have not thought of. No limits. The individual piece should not be bigger then average medium size. Anything in sewing, quilting or yarn-craft should not be larger then one standard item (example; dress, lap blanket … ) Any painting, drawings or photo piece should not be bigger then approximately 25x20”. All items should be able to hang, unless it is something like a dress (or clothing item) then display mannequin must be supplied. Only one piece per person. This is to keep everything even across the board.

Items are to be dropped off individually by representative. All items will be listed. Drop off date will be announced closer to the main event in May. All pieces will need to be submitted with details via e-mail to me by the end of March. This is to organize what will go where in the gallery.

An opening will occur on the first day of the opening. All those who represent or affiliated with CF are encouraged to attend. Since those with CF are unable to attend a full video along with photos of exhibition will be provided and posted on Facebook as well as an option to have this e-mailed to them. Those with CF who would like to see the exhibition in person will be able to do so by schedule. A time table for this will be provided once all pieces for the show have been confirmed with me. The show will go for two weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you. Please contact me with any questions.
