CFI are delighted to announce that Dr. Sarah Tecklenborg has been appointed (Interim) CEO, starting 1st February 2024.

Sarah joined CFI in December 2019 as Senior Research and Policy Coordinator and has been instrumental in establishing Public and Patient Involvement programmes, support groups such as the Pregnancy Support and Advocacy Group and developing a research strategy for CFI. She has campaigned for better CF facilities, access to medication and independent living supports for people living with CF.

Sarah previously worked in the HSE Sexual Health and Crisis Pregnancy Programme and the Health Research Board and is passionate about improving people’s health through evidence-informed policy and practice.

She has extensive research and management experience having undertaken three post-doctoral research positions in the Royal College of Surgeons in the areas of Epidemiology, Sexual Health and Pharmacoeconomics. Sarah graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BA in Microbiology, a MSc in Global Health and a PhD in Molecular Epidemiology.
