Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CFI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Tecklenborg as Chief Executive Officer of CFI. The Board of CFI recognise Sarah’s strong leadership and contributions during her tenure as Interim CEO.

Sarah has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of our cause and a strong commitment to our mission,” said Bernie Priestley, Chairperson CFI.

After careful consideration, it became clear that she is the right person to drive the work of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland on – tackling both the existing and the emerging challenges of living with CF. The Board is confident that Sarah’s vision and strategic insight, combined with her strong research and background, will go far in supporting and advocating with our members.”

“I am honoured to accept the role of CEO and to continue working alongside our dedicated team and members to improve the lives of people living with CF in Ireland,” said Sarah.

I am excited about the future for people with CF and I look forward to building on the progress that has been achieved through decades of hard work and advocacy.

In spite of progress challenges remain, medication shortages, access to treatments for those with rare mutations, barriers to home ownership, mortgages and pensions are all a focus for us in the years ahead. We will continue to drive change and deliver on our goal of lives free from the challenges of CF.”

The Board expressed gratitude to Sarah for stepping into the interim role and for her leadership during this period of transition.
