Our Privacy Promise

Our Privacy Promise: Keeping Your Info Safe

Welcome to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CFI)! When you visit our website (www.cfireland.ie) or talk to us, you are sharing a little bit of information about yourself.

This page explains how we protect your details, what we do with them, and how you are always the boss of your own information!

What Information Do We Collect?

Depending on how you use our website or contact us, you might share different details. This includes things like:

  • Your name, address, and phone number.

  • Your date of birth.

  • Your email address (like when you sign up for our magazine or newsletter).

  • Your photos or stories, if you choose to share them with us for a campaign.

Our Privacy Promise to You

We promise to handle your information in a way that is fair, legal, and honest.

  • Safe Storage: We use strong computer security to lock your details away so strangers cannot look at them.

  • No Selling: We will never sell your information to companies who want to send you advertisements.

  • No Money Secrets: If your parents make a donation online, we use trusted, secure payment partners. We never see or save full bank card numbers.

How We Use Your Information

We only look at your details for important reasons to help the CF community, such as:

  • Sending you the information or newsletters you asked for.

  • Managing your membership or helping a parent, guardian, or caregiver to get a CFI grant for you.

  • Inviting your family to fun events and challenges.

  • Sharing your story or photo to raise awareness—but only if your parent, guardian, or caregiver says it is okay first!

Important Rule: Ask a Grown-Up First!

If you are under 18 years old, you must get permission from your parent, guardian, or caregiver before you type your information into our website or send us any messages.

*Privacy Tip: If we ever use your story or photo to help raise awareness for CF, we will protect your identity by only printing your first name and the county you live in.

You Are the Boss of Your Data

European laws give you total control over your information. You can ask a parent, guardian, or caregiver to help you message us at any time to:

  1. See exactly what information we have about you.

  1. Fix a mistake if we spelled something wrong.

  1. Delete your information completely from our systems.

  1. Stop sending you letters or emails
