RSV Infection on Increase 

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre in Ireland (HPSC) has issued a general warning that the RSV infection is at very high levels in Ireland, especially in children aged four and under. From CFI's recent knowledge, RSV it is also impacting on older young people and some adults with CF.

CFI has contacted health authorities to urge them to provide more specific health advice for those with long term conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis.

In the meantime we would urge our members to continue to use common sense and the standard anti infection etiquette such as handwashing  and mask wearing in public places to help avoid infections and further to avoid other potential situations where the risk of RSV may be higher, though this will of course be more challenging at this festive time of the year.
