Vaccine registration for children aged 12-15 opened today, Thursday August 12th.
Children will be offered the Pfizer or the Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, in line with the recommendations of the European Medicines Agency that mRNA vaccines were safe and effective for those aged 12 to 15.

Both vaccines are approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) as safe and effective. They are recommended in Ireland by the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC).

The best time to call is between 1pm and 6pm. You will get through to an operator quicker.
If you register by phone, a parent or legal guardian will need to be at the appointment to give consent for the vaccine in person.
At present the places of vaccination for all children 12-15 year olds, including those with CF, is a vaccination centre or through your pharmacist. CFI has also heard informally from our members that some GP’s may also provide vaccinations- we are currently seeking confirmation on this but in any event it is likely that only some GP’s will provide this service.
