TLC4CF was formed in 2008, with the aim of improving hospital and treatment services, facilities and supports for people with cystic fibrosis (CF) in the mid-west region of Ireland.
TLC4CF is a not-for-profit charity and an affiliated regional branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, covering Tipperary, Limerick and Clare.
Our Achievements
To date, TLC4CF has raised nearly €7m to invest in services to support people living with CF in this region including:
- Funding and opening of a CF Unit in University Hospital Limerick which includes
- 9 bed in-patient ward
- 5 bed out-patient treatment unit
- Physiotherapy gym
- Pulmonary function lab
- Triage & store rooms
- Family room
- Catering Kitchen
- Staff offices
- Changing rooms
- Funding CF Staff in UHL
- Provide essential equipment for monitoring and treatment
- Support clinical research projects
- Provide subsidised support services to local CF families
However, work remains to ensure that Limerick becomes a centre of excellence for CF Care and Research.
