World Incontinence Week

June 21st - 27th is World Continence Week

World Continence Week (WCW) an annual initiative designed and managed by the World Federation for Incontinence and Pelvic Problems (WFIPP), with the approval of the International Continence Society (ICS) and the European Association of Urology (EAU). It is a global initiative intended to raise awareness of all forms of incontinence, pelvic pain and other debilitating conditions which impact greatly on the lives of patients and carers.

Stress incontinence is well recognized as being more prevalent in people with CF than in the general population. Research has shown that Urinary Incontinence affects 30-69% of the female CF population and 11% of males.

Myra Robinson is a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist working in the NHS in South London. She is also the physiotherapist behind Squeezy App, and a co-founder of the physiotherapy led, pelvic health group “pelvicroar”.
