CF Ireland and TLC4CF have been notified by University Hospital Limerick (UHL) that the Adult CF Inpatient Ward in the Leben building has been reopened for COVID-19 management. This is due to the significant surge in Covid-19 inpatient cases being treated at the hospital that you will be aware of from media reports..

The ward is presently being utilised for suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients. CFI/TLC4CF have been assured the decision to utilise the CF ward for COVID-19 management will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. UHL are also providing a protected inpatient bed for non-COVID CF inpatient care in ward 3B.

Both the Adult and Paediatric CF services continue to operate at UHL. Virtual clinics are running successfully and continue to operate at this time. If you have any questions or concerns about your appointment, please contact your CF nurse directly.

The UHL CF Team would like to reassure all UHL patients that if you require an outpatient review or inpatient stay at this time, this will be managed by your regular CF team. If you are feeling unwell, please contact your CF nurse directly. The Adult and Paediatric CF nursing team are there for you and more than willing to guide you and answer any questions you may have.
