CFI Update: Creon Supplies

Cystic Fibrosis Ireland are in regular contact with Mylan regarding the availability of Creon.

We have been assured of an ongoing supply with deliveries due in Ireland at the end of March and again in April. Warehouses have changed the way they are delivering stock to pharmacies, each product is now on allocation. This means that each pharmacy will receive a weekly supply which is the average of their weekly needs from the previous three months. The aim of this measure is to ensure continuity of supply. If people continue to collect their medication in their usual manner there should be no issues with regards to supply. If people stockpile medication beyond their usual amounts, then this may lead to local shortages or delay in accessing Creon for others.

Cystic Fibrosis Ireland would ask all our members to support each other during this time. We will continue to monitor supply and would ask members to continue to collect their medication in their usual manner. There is no need to stockpile.
