Parent Supports

CFI have a range of supports available for parents of children diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, created by parents for parents.

The Parent Connect Team

The Parent Connect Team is a group of volunteer parents who have young children with cystic fibrosis (CF). Supported by CFI, they are there to listen, offer support, and share helpful resources.

If you would like to be connected with another parent, please email your name and phone number to parentconnect@cfireland.ie, and we will get in touch.

New Born Care Pack and Information Sheet

The Parent Connect Team has created an information leaflet and newborn care pack for parents whose child has recently been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

The leaflet includes helpful information and a Q&A section, which may be especially useful in the early days after diagnosis.

We work closely with hospital paediatric teams, who usually give out these care packs. If you haven’t received one yet, please let us know and we will arrange one for you.

You can contact us at memberservices@cfireland.ie

Online Parent Support Group

When you feel ready, you can also join our online Parent Support Group, which meets once a month.

These sessions take place on the first Wednesday of each month. They are a chance to connect with other parents, ask questions, and learn in a safe and supportive space.

If you would like to join, you can sign up here.

CF Advocate Service

CF Advocates are people living with Cystic Fibrosis who are part of the CF Ireland team. They support families in different ways — whether you need advice about your rights and entitlements, practical information about living with CF, or just someone to talk to.
