Tallaght Hospital Relocation of Paediatric in-patient Services

Temporary relocation of paediatric in-patient services from Tallaght Hospital to Crumlin Hospital

(Day services to continue in Tallaght Hospital for the time being)

From Saturday, 28th of March 2020 the CF paediatric in-patient service in Tallaght Hospital is being transferred, on a temporary basis, to Crumlin Childrens Hospital.

Tallaght hospital will maintain, for the time being, their day to day service for children and young people with CF attending Tallaght Hospital including MDT team care, telephone clinics and individual urgent reviews.

So please continue to contact the CF team in Tallaght by phone if you have any important health concerns.

As there will be no in-patient paediatric services in Tallaght Hospital from Midnight on Friday 27th March, any urgent admission after this time will be directed to Crumlin Hospital and the CF team will endeavour to ensure that the child is seen by a Tallaght consultant, whenever possible.

The CF team will also maintain a consultant for Tallaght Hospital.

The MDT team in Tallaght Hospital has started contacting parents to inform them of this change.

CFI understands that this decision has not been taken lightly and is in the best interest of CF patients at this very difficult time.

We thank the CF Clinicians and their teams in Tallaght and Crumlin Hospitals for their excellent care of children and young people with CF in challenging times.

We know that this change in CF care delivery will be met with some initial anxiety, but also understanding by parents and those with CF that this measure has to be done at this time to protect the health of our patients.

CFI will post updates as soon as we receive them.
